Chief John Timoney, of Miami; Chief Art Acevedo, of Austin, Texas (NLPOA
National President); and former Chief Art Venegas, of Sacramento, California
conducted a news conference on Immigration Reform at Miami Florida. Leading law
enforcement officials from across the nation are advocating for a stronger voice
in immigration reform at a panel discussion in Miami.
The panel comes after recent indications that immigration reform efforts from
the federal government might not be far off. President Barack Obama met Thursday
with members of both political parties to discuss immigration and said that
everyone agrees the system needs to be fixed.
